Megan Lewis

A local of Sheffield, Megan is an animation student at Sheffield Hallam University. She’s currently producing a short animated 2D film called ‘The Nightmare’ for her final year, about a teddy bear defending a child from a nightmare. She’s hoping to specialize in the area of 2D Animation and Character Design, recently collaborating with an industry client ‘Enactus’ at Sheffield Hallam in a University module, this gave her chance apply this skill in a real world setting by producing/designing potential short animations for their social media accounts. At the moment, she’s focused on graduating her degree and is looking to the future of freelance work!

James Aldred

Currently living in Sheffield. James is an animation student completing his 3rd year at Sheffield Hallam University. He is currently producing a short film called “I’m fine…” for final year which he aims to be his main portfolio piece. The animation is a visual representation of depression in men and the consequences of not opening up, something James is able to relate to. Once had his heart set on working as a 3D animator, James has slowly grew fond of 2D animation. An inspiring illustrator, hoping to specialise in motion graphics.

When a stubborn astronaut takes matters into his on hands, he soon realizes the mistake he’s made. In the cold, emptiness of space he faces his enemy alone. When it seems all hope is lost, he awakes from his nightmare to find he has a second chance. Will he accept the help he needs or take the same fate?

Lewis Harris-Dales

Originally from Derby, Lewis is an animation student at Sheffield Hallam University, now working on their final year film “Spider Senses”, which is  about a guy who finds a spider in their room and chases it. He is more  interested in the 3D aspects of animation, particularly in the modelling  and texturing aspects, and is hoping to specialize in them. Recently, he  was able to collaborate with Enterprise to use these skills to create assets  for short videos for their advertising campaign on social media for their  newest building, the I-lab. Right now, he’s focussed fully on graduating  and what to pursue during the summer.

After a hard day, the guy walks into his room and sees a massive spider on his  wall, which he decides to sensibly remove. When the spider spooks him with a  cheery grin, the guy loses all sense of rationality and goes berserk to remove  the “threat”.

Lewis Robinson

Hello, I’m Lewis Robinson. As a child I was always in awe at animated films and video games, with their special effects and unique art styles, so in secondary school I decided to give animation a go and was hooked at the feeling of creating movement from hundreds of images, this would later become a passion of mine when I took to animated in 3D CGI in college. I am currently working on “Stone Confidence”. A film about a cavegirl who comes back from a hunt without being able to catch her prey due to being too scared, her father then goes on to tell her a story about how he gained confidence to relight her confidence. My biggest goal in life would be to be able to work as an animator overseas and gather a range of skills and experience to help me grow as a person.

A young cavegirl comes back from a disappointing hunt to her dad after being too scared to hunt some prey, the father then comforts her by telling a story about how he gained confidence by using cave paintings that come to life as the story goes on.
