I wanted to create branding material and a website for Simon Robinson’s business. He is a local mobile fishmonger over 35 years established. To help promote the business I created some social media presence to follow along with the website, and to conform to the branding guide’s parameters.

The business has been steady over the years, never exceptional, however with the current pandemic business has never been better. Simon and I hope to use this momentum along with the creation of this website to expand the business by attracting more customers.

As part of the Creative media project module I partnered with Shakespeare Distillery. Established in 2015, Shakespeare Distillery is an independent artisan spirit producer based in Stratford upon Avon. They craft a range of premium, handcrafted gins, onsite at the distillery situated in the historical town. As part of this project they are expanding into the British made Rum sector. As such I was commissioned to develop and design the sub brand that is now ‘Jester Rum’.

The overall aim of the Creative Media Project module was to utilise and build on the skills introduced and developed throughout previous module studies on the Digital Media Production course.

The first client I secured was Louise, who owns an aromatherapy business called ‘Beautiful Blue Aromatherapy’ (BBA). The brief stated she needed assistance with the photography of her products, as well as with the use of social media to drive a small regular number of sales as she had no way of selling her products other than craft fairs, which were not available to her during COVID.

The second client I secured was Sheffield Hallam University’s Real Estate course (SHU Real Estate). This client wanted to use social media to increase awareness of the course with new students; generate content of interest to potential and existing students; and to compliment previous strategies such as the #SHURealEstate LinkedIn campaign (SHU Real Estate Team, 2021). They needed help with social media content, graphics for their brand identity, as well as a ‘how-to’ guide on the use of Instagram.

Alongside perusing my degree in Sheffield, I had been creating various types of cover art for rap artists and producers across the UK . I had done this off my back as I have a huge passion for the music and production behind it.

Therefore, I linked the project and my personal hobby together; deciding I would develop my own brand and business alongside producing a range of digital media to launch it with. Initially the concept was to fully brand, promote and build my own digital media production business, where I would produce numerous types of digital media for several artists, that I would be reaching out via lnstagram and YouTube.

“Privacy Policy” is a short film that aims to provoke two questions: How much reach should user-focused technology have into our privacy and permissions. And, what could happen if both are abused, as technology is about to make the leap into our bodies? These questions are brought about by the storyline of the film, in which the main character grants more and more permissions without considering the implications, until someone controls him fully, and may do anything with him.

The aim of my project was to produce an industry standard Music Video for a recording artist based in Sheffield. A music video is a short film used to market a single by labels (Langham, n.d.). The Client is Caide Online, a U.K. Producer/Artist signed to Primera Records. The music video is for the musician’s upcoming single featuring Leeds rapper Omz.  I have been given permission to use the track as it is copyrighted by Primera Records. I was hired as the Director, D.O.P and Editor for the production.
