For my Creative Media Project I chose to work with and create graphic designs and digital media for Elizabeth Feast Loose Covers. I wanted to work with a client that didn’t have a lot of social media presence/basic graphics and website prior to working with them as this would give me a lot of freedom to design a brand for them.

This would also give my work a purpose as Elizabeth is in need of a brand identity and digital media marketing. My aims were to create a new, refreshed website that is easy to navigate and clearly reflects the business and what they do, design a logo for the brand – this was to be started from scratch due to no logo being present, and to create updated social media posts showing her work.

This scene is an original piece with inspiration from the Vampire the Masquerade IP. This was made for a module on my Game art master. I am thrilled with the way the scene has come out, and it has helped me alot to learn more about the lighting systems within UE4.

I would like to say a massive thank you to the people at Dinusty and Experience Points for all the help and feedback on this project! Without everyone, the scene would not have come out the way it has and for that I’m thankful! There are many people I would like to mention but I would like to say a massive thank you to both Alex Beddows & Martin de Graaf.

I decided to split this project into two main parts. The first part being for the business I am working for – Yorkshire Vehicle Finance. They recently decided in the last two years to branch into Electric Vehicle Leasing whereby I played a role in the web design, marketing, graphic design and advertisement of the company.

In the recent year, they decided to also produce a website exclusive to Tesla leasing. So, I decided the graphic design, web design and marketing of this new business online would play a role in my project.

Alongside this, I wanted to try making an animated art piece. I originally had the idea in January to create a cartoon portrait that would have some simplistic animation, and simple changes to the environment around the character. This stemmed after I was browsing different art styles that I was gaining inspiration from on Instagram. I produced a character inspired by an artist named ‘__polincher__ ‘ and thought about making an animated scene derived from this single art piece I made. So, I planned on using Adobe Photoshop and After Effects to create an Animated Video with some implemented sound design to match it.

The idea for my creative media project was to create a mobile application which replicates the experience and results of traditional film photography/ disposable cameras, as well as providing a cheaper alternative to regular image development.

My reason for choosing this topic was due to the recent surge in popularity amongst peers and social media trends.

My goals for this project are to develop a user-friendly film style app, with a strong and clear brand style, create social media content and multimedia promotional materials such as GIFS, videos and images, as well as an accompanying website. Utilizing several software programmes such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator, which were all programmes which I had an extensive experience with however, to prototype my app I used Adobe XD which I had previously never used before. While looking for software for prototyping I tried several different alternatives, such as Marvel and Figma, I ultimately decided on XD, this was because Adobe offered a range of plugins to help integrate media into your prototypes, as well as the fact that it is so integrated within the Adobe suite, all-be-it without the live collaborative feature that both Figma and Marvel would allow.
